Filming our Thriller

We bagan filming for th second time. We changed out location to a lighter place, a different cupbourd area with brighter lights which also had more angles to shoot from.

The first scene me and my group shot was when the characrer had bleeding eyes.

The setting for this scene was;

Sid, wouls be possitioned ont the floor in the room. There would be no explanation to why or how he go there.

He wore normal clothes, and normal hair, but we covered his eyes and hands with blood. (red acrylic paint, water and black ink).

We made sure he had a scared and freaked out facial expression and shaking hands, so this could reveal to the viewer his worry and panick.

We put him at the bottom of the frame, but alternated the angles and shots throughout the sequence to make it look bitty, choppy and mysterious to the audience.

Make Up

We used acrylic paint and water to create blood and painted it on Sid's eyes.

MOBYGRATIS reply e-mail

I recieved an e-mail back from moby gratis for the music that I had requested. They accepted my request and sent me the terms, conditions and liscence agreement.

As it came through so quickly, as soon as we start filming we can upload it to the computer and fit in with the music at the same time. This will give the thriller a better effect and more rhythm to the scenes.

For our thriller we are not going to have a script as we found the thrillers we looked at less believable when  there was speech as we do not have access to brilliant actors. instead we are just going to use stage directions, so the actors will know what do, without having to say anything. 


Our characters in the thriller are going to be:


Sid (boy)
He cheated on his girlfriend, she found out and then now wants him to suffer. 


Sam (voice over and antagonist)
Will be the voice inside sids head. 


Harley (girl)
angry cause her boyfriend cheated on her.

Filming.

Today we decided to film the beginning of our thriller. We decided to film bleeding eyes and the burning paper as we thought that would be the easiest to film first. 


We did this in two locations; toilets and the dark cupboard. However, when we uploaded it to the computer our hope of it looking dark and spooky were spoiled by it looking completely black. I tried to lighten it using final cut express, however it would not lighten enough so we will have to film these again in the light, or twilight, so i can still get a dark and gloomy effect, whilst still being able to see what is going on in thew movie.

Thriller Locations;

This is one of the locations i will be using for my thriller. it is a dark old cupboard which will be used when some of the spooky things happen. 

The name of my thriller;

We did have problems thinking of a name for out thriller. We wanted to make sure it was short and snappy, so we came up with the name 'possessed'.

I edited this picture on photoshop to look as if had been taken through binoculars. I also altered the colour to make it darker.

We took pictures to put in the thriller for BEFORE the scary things begin to happen. 

Health and Safety Risk Assessment:

Before filming in locations we have to take into consideration the rules of what we can and can not do.

For example:
We needed to check all the locations we could possibly use to make sure they are safe. This being, no dangerous areas, no slippery surfaces and no damages buildings .etc.
Be aware of fire hazzards. Do not create fires in uncontrollable areas or film in a fire risk zone.
Take care of techniques. For example, we are using smoke in our thriller, but if a member of the group is asthmatic, we would not let them come near filming while we would be persuing this task.
No knives, weapons or guns, but if used, not in the sight of other citizens, (this could worry them and get myself and the rest of the group in a lot of trouble).
Be aware of roads, houses and other citizens.
Make sure all equipment is taken care of at all times.
Check you have permission to film in the premesis you choose.

For our character with bleeding eyes, we decided to test how it would look. We used acrylic paint and water to make the blood.
